External Fund Raising Program
Novikombank has successful experience in attracting funds on international financial markets.
In April 2007 the Bank attracted Loan Facility from the British investment bank Barclays Capital amounting to USD 42 mln. The funding was granted for one year. This funding became the first international unsecured loan. The attracted funds were directed towards the implementation of lending projects in the mechanical engineering field, as well as towards the financing of foreign trade operations of the Bank's clients.
Also in 2007 VTB and Unicredit Bank acted as Arrangers of Syndicated Loan Facility for the amount of RUB 330 mln for Novikombank. The syndicated loan facility was granted for the tenor of 3 months. OJSC “Russian Bank for Development” and OJSC “Bank Zenit” acted as Lenders.
The Bank plans further development by implementing the External Fund Raising Program. This program is realized in two directions:
- Participation in club loans granted to the Russian and CIS banks as Investor (on Lender’s side);
- Attraction of funds from capital markets (on Borrower’s side).
Under the first direction in December, 2010 Novikombank acted as Mandated Lead Arranger of Joint Stock Savings Bank Belarusbank Trade Related Syndicated Term Loan Facility (amount — USD 145 mln, tenor — 1 year).
For Novikombank this transaction is the debut on the syndicated loans market and the next step of strengthening cooperation with the CIS banks within the framework of the Programs of International business development and Comprehensive services to financial institutions.
Among Initial Mandated Lead Arrangers were Alfa-Bank (Russia), Credit Suisse AG (Switzerland), OTP Bank Plc (Hungary), OTP Bank (Moscow), Promsvyazbank (Moscow), VTB Bank (Russia) and VTB Bank (Deutschland) AG (Germany). Novikombank acted as one of the Mandated Lead Arrangers of this syndicated loan facility. 14 banks from the UK, Germany, Holland, Italy, Russia, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Hungary participated in this facility.
Also in March 2011 Novikombank acted as Lead Arranger of JSC "Belinvestbank" Trade Related Syndicated Term Loan Facility. Belinvestbank, which is among Top 5 largest Belarusian banks in terms of capital and assets, has signed Syndicated Term Loan Facility for the total amount of USD 58,5 mln (tenor — 1 year).
Among Initial Mandated Lead Arrangers were JSC VTB Bank (Russia), VTB Bank (Deutschland) AG (Germany), Eurasian Development Bank (Kazakhstan).
Novikombank acted as Lead Arranger together with Globexbank (Russia), Atlantic Forfaitierungs AG (Switzerland). VTB Bank (Deutschland) AG (Germany) acted as Agent.
Participation of Novikombank in these transactions is the next step on strengthening and expansion of cooperation with the CIS bank within the framework of the Programs of International business development and Comprehensive services to financial institutions.
