22.12.09. Novikombank President Ilya Gubin added to the pool of high-potential managers under the Russian President's patronage
Novikombank President Ilya Gubin has been added to the management personnel pool established under the President’s patronage. This was a reflection of Ilya Gubin’s active social position, and of his direct personal contribution to the development of the Russian economy and to the provision of investments for the financial requirements of domestic industry.
Ilya Gubin was born in 1965. Between military service and his arrival at Novikombank in 2001, he worked at some of Russia’s largest financial institutions. From 2005 to 2008 he held management positions in AVTOVAZ.
Ilya Gubin actively contributes to the implementation of projects of social significance. In particular, as a member of the Banks and Banking Commission of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs he participates in drafting and implementing legislative initiatives aimed at further developing the national banking sector. He is a member of the Russian Engineering Union and the Russo-Austrian Business Council.
Ilya Gubin devotes a great deal of attention to charitable initiatives. The projects implemented with his support are aimed at preserving cultural heritage and at reviving spirituality in Russian society, cultivating a spirit of patriotism in the rising generation and developing national sport.
In this connection, Director General of the Russian Technologies State Corporation and Chairman of the Novikombank Board of Directors Sergey Chemezov commented: “Today, within the framework of a policy of modernising and qualitatively developing national industry, it is becoming particularly important to have executives with a new kind of mentality — young, creative, and not afraid of innovation. 2005—2007 — Chief Financial & Economics Officer, Vice-President of finance and economics of JSC AVTOVAZ.
2001—2005 — President, Chairman of the Management Board of Novikombank.
1994—2001 — held management positions in SBS-AGRO Bank (Stolichny Bank), International Financial Company Bank, ITERA Corporation.
1987—1994 — service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
Mr Gubin was born in 1965 in Novokuibushevsk, Kuibushev region.
In 1987 he graduated from Yaroslavl Higher Military Financial School of Red Star Order named after General A. V. Hrulev. PhD in Economics.
Actively participates in socially significant projects; a member of the Commission on Banks and Banking Operations of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Council (RSPP), All-Russia public organisation Russian Engineering Union, Russian–Austrian Business Council.
Mr Gubin is a member of the boards of trustees of Preobrazhenskiy Military School, the Federation of Cycling Sports of Russia, and the Moscow Confederation of Billiard Sports.
He is awarded the Russian Ministry of Defence medal ‘For strengthening comradeship in arms’, the ‘300th Anniversary of the Russian Navy’ medal, the ‘Distinguished Service in the Army’ medal 2nd degree, and the ‘70th Anniversary of the Armed Forces of the USSR’ medal.
In 2001, by order of the Ministry of Industry, Science and Technologies of the Russian Federation, I. N. Gubin was awarded the title ‘Honourable Machine Engineer’.
In August 2008, for participation in the financial support and restoration of churches of the Russian Orthodox Church, he was awarded the Order of Reverend Sergei Radonezhsky, 3rd degree.
