In its charity work Novikombank attaches paramount importance to the development of Russian culture, the revival of spirituality and the preservation of national values.
By providing charity support to Russian temples and churches, the Bank actively promotes the efforts of the Russian Orthodox Church on the revival of the centres of spiritual life of the country and the restoration of orthodox monuments.
These include:
- The ward in honour of Reverend Serafim Sarovsky in Samara diocese;
- The Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Ostankino;
- The Church of the All-Holy Trinity in Kolomna;
- The Church of the Sanctifier Nicholas in Golutvin, and many others.
The substantial contribution of Novikombank and its management to the spiritual revival of Russia was acknowledged in the award of the Order of Saint Sergei Radonezhsky of III Degree. His Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia awarded the Order to Iliya Gubin, Chairman of Board of Directors, ‘for attention to the church of God’s prophet Iliya in Obydensky pereulok of Moscow’.
In 2008 Novikombank supported the World Russian National Assembly – the largest Russian public forum, a place of meeting of people of various political convictions who are united in caring about the future of Russia. The Bank supported the idea of the Assembly of Children and Youth ‘Future generations are the national patrimony of Russia’, which was a basic subject of XII World Russian National Assembly.
Strengthening moral principles in the life of the society, Novikombank sponsored the documentary film ‘On the road to Monastery’, produced by the ‘XXI century’ National Film Studio Centre, which features the Lavra of the Holy Trinity and St Sergius – the largest centre of orthodox culture in Russia and one of the most esteemed Russian relics.
